DebugView is an application that lets you monitor debug output on your local system, or any computer on the network that you can reach via TCP/IP. The creation of .DS_Store files (and more so, ._AppleDouble files which are not covered in this hint) is frequently the source of complaints against Mac users, who often leave a trail of these files scattered throughout the filesystem when "visiting" a Windows computer. Even with this hint in place, the .DS_Store files will continue to be created on local volumes (which is a good thing). |  |

As an entry: using Shell:SendTo (it is not case sensitive) Put that in a Run box (Windows-R key combination), the SendTo Folder will open in Windows Explorer. |

Ok, this is primarily for me, so I can look up if I should ever forget it. Ever tried to copy a window in a terminal session to the clipboard? Usually you press ALT-PrintScreen for this. If you do this into an RDP session, you get the whole (logically) Remote Desktop. To copy only the focused window (in the RDP Terminal Session) in the clipboard, just press the key combination CTRL-ALT-Minus.
Microsoft has just released the next major version of the Windows Live Essentials 2011 beta suite. The package comes with a number of improvements, bug fixes and added features.
Microsoft originally released a Windows Live Essentials beta on June 24. Essentials includes the popular programs Windows Live Movie Maker, Mail, Writer, Sync, and Family Safety. The Windows Live team has aimed to ensure that the next version of Windows Live Essentials takes advantage of Windows 7 fully. All applications now use the new ribbon UI and integrate further into Windows 7 by using Jumplists. Windows Live Sync is also included which keeps your files synchronized on the web and across multiple PCs.
Microsoft also introduced several new features for Windows Live Photo Gallery, including photo fusing to blend photos together and improved facial recognition.

| Apple’s pushing out iOS 4.0.2 for iPhones and iPod Touches and iOS 3.2.2 for iPads, an update that patches the previous versions’ PDF exploit and wipes out your iPhone’s unlock and nice new jailbreak.
The update, which is showing up in iTunes now, doesn’t bring any new features, just a patch for the recently-exposed PDF vulnerability (the one used by JailbreakMe), so if you weren’t super worried about being susceptible—or if you want to keep your jailbreak or your iPhone unlocked—you might not want to jump on this one just yet. |
